Publication Venue

Proceedings of BICA 2011 are published by IOS Press as a book in FAIA Series. The book looks similar to the book of Proceedings of BICA 2010. The book is already printed:

In addition, the e-book version of the Proceedings is also published by IOS Press, and indexed in major indices. Moreover, it is the policy of IOS Press that the authors can post their paper on their web site (copyright by IOS Press and the authors).

The following instructions are no longer relevant.

We solicit submissions of the following categories: 150 word abstracts, extended abstracts (1 or 2 pages), research papers and position papers. Normally, papers can be up to 6 pages long (the length is negotiable: see below). All submissions (except short abstracts) must be prepared based on the IOS Press template found at

Page-over charges

Following many requests, we decided to allow authors to exceed the 6-page limit in their submissions to BICA 2011, in which case if a paper is accepted, then a page-over charge of $50 USD per page will apply. This policy is intended to set up a nice incentive for shorter papers without making firm rules. At the same time, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to waive page-over charges to certain authors and kinds of materials, as well as to require shortening (possibly below 6 pages) of submissions that scored low on peer review.

Please access EasyChair at in order to make your submission (you may need to create an account). At this time submissions CANNOT be made via email, and must be in the final camera-ready form (if longer than 150 words).

Final Version

Final camera-ready versions of accepted papers and abstracts will be due together with the registration fee by the specified deadline. All final submissions should be made through EasyChair following instructions in the acceptance letter. Each registered participant will receive a copy of the book of Proceedings at the conference.
